Also they jumped on the "it had a poor performance" VERY fast, I mean, the original didn't ship 1M so fast, and took a while to get to 2.5M, but eventually got somewhere between that and 7.5M. But they didn't release a single major title in 2022 outside of Just Dance 2023 and Mario + Rabbids. I think they just wanted that scapegoat to blame and the obvious answer to Gamers is the Mario game. Also very much doubt it costed anywhere near Immortals Fenyx Rise, and it has the potential to outsell it in a platform alone. Definitely nowhere near that of Skulls and Bones that keeps getting postponed and just wasting rivers of money. I don't see in any reality this game not breaking even, but I also wonder how big of a budget it got. I mean, I'm pretty sure it didn't outright bomb, like not selling a million first quarter, right? Were they expecting Nintendo first party levels of sales? Were they expecting the game to outsell the first in 2 months?
